Untitled_001 marks the beginning of my investigation into our innate tendency to assign meaning to objects, from the everyday to the cherished.  By staging 3D found objects, I create proxies for real-world objects that form emotional spaces where recollection is reconfigured.  I explore how objects mark, anchor and evoke, and through their staging these elements coalesce into the recollection of a person, time, event or place ↳ ultimately becoming the subject of the painting or drawing.

These mock-ups illustrate how a single piece can be presented in various ways.  Primarily, a drawing or painting is wall-mounted and then overlaid with a looping animation via projection. Alternatively, the artwork can be integrated into a video piece and displayed across multiple large-scale screens or individual displays.  Looking ahead, I’m excited to explore the possibilities of transparent screen technology to create a more immersive, vivid, contained, and intimate experience.
